Rejected Load in Fresno? Offload It and Free Your Trailer

A distribution center can refuse a delivery at the door. A common reason is a load that shifted in transit: a hard stop tips a pallet, the stack leans, and the receiver will not let its staff handle it for safety and liability reasons. The load is rejected, and the freight is still on your trailer.

A Rejected Load Still Has to Come Off the Truck

Until the freight is unloaded, the truck cannot take its next load. Driving back empty or hauling refused merchandise across the state costs fuel and time, and the next pickup will not wait. What most drivers need first is a place to put the freight down.

What to Do When a Load Is Rejected

  • Ask the receiver to note the refusal and the reason on the bill of lading or delivery receipt.
  • Photograph the load on the trailer before anything is moved.
  • Call your dispatcher or broker so the shipper can decide where the freight goes next.
  • Find a place to offload it, so the trailer is free while that decision is made.

Offload It in Fresno While Another Trailer Is Sent

Midland Crossdocking takes rejected freight off your trailer at our dock at 944 S Topeka Ave in Fresno. We photograph it and log the date it arrived, then hold it in pallet storage. When the shipper or the freight owner sends another trailer to collect it, we load it onto that truck.

Your trailer is empty and free for its next load, and the freight is documented from the moment it reaches our dock. If it is headed to a different receiver, the same dock handles cross-docking: the freight comes off one truck here and goes out on the next.

Stored in a 24/7 Controlled-Access Facility

While it waits, the freight is kept in our 24/7 controlled-access facility on a marked floor space, with forklifts and pallet stackers on site to move it. Storage is by the pallet, short term or long term, depending on how long the next step takes.

After-Hours and Weekend Service

A rejection does not always happen during business hours. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 4:00pm, and after-hours and weekend service is available. Call (559) 325-4813 to arrange a time.

How to Get a Quote

Every job is quoted on its scope rather than a flat rate. The number of pallets, their height and weight, what the freight is and when you need us all change how the job is handled and the liability involved. The pricing page lists what goes into a quote, and a photo lets us quote what is actually on the trailer.

  • Text a photo of the load to (559) 325-4813, showing the pallets and the freight.
  • Include a rough pallet count and how long the freight needs to stay.
  • Tell us when you plan to arrive, especially if it is after hours or on a weekend.

New clients sign a short agreement covering maximum liability for damages. If the freight needs additional insurance, tell us before it arrives. Payment is by card on the spot or by invoice. The four steps from photo to payment and our frequently asked questions cover the rest.
